Hyderabad Trip 07

Once again I had the chance to travel to Hyderabad this weekend. As you all know, this place has importance in my career since this is where it all started. This time I had been there for some office interviews etc. We went by Air sahara oh boy! what a flight. Can you imagine an aircraft where a 6 ft high guys touches the roof. Huh. The AC sucks and we have some very funny photos of people using the flight safety instructions card as a fan. Well, the food and the crew is good. Just an hours flight and you are in the city.

This time I went to Golconda light and sound show. On the way saw nvidia office, Microsoft, Infy, ISB. The place is rocky. I enjoyed the light and sound show although some of my friends didn't. The ruins are still "grand" and speak of an empire long lost. Dinner was at 4 seasons - lots of kababs and yummy biryani and I was left with no space in my tummy for dessert Qhubani ka meetha. Although the sweet is tasty but its too sweet so I think I would not have been able to eat the entire thing anyway so no regrets. Qhubani ka meetha btw happens to be apricots in sugar syrup.

The next day I went for some shopping and later met with my friends Yogini and Rahul for dinner. It was nice to chat chat chat with them after a long time. BTW, I saw two actors - Raza Murad and Genelia who were staying in our hotel. The girl is pretty.

The day after we went shoppping for pearls and I got some good designs this time. Swati Pearls is a good shop btw. It is quite reasonably priced. Pls be very careful with the prices and bargaining is a must. In one shop I got the guy to reduce 800 Rs for a set and even after he brought down the price I refused to buy. The craftsmanship and the quality of gems (it had very less carat weight rubies in it.) Let me tell u the cist it was Rs1600, so you can easily imagine that these rubies are
really very very less in carat wt. We then went to Paradise for another round of biryani. I would still say that the biryani I had at some place near charminar 10 yrs back was way too good than the biryanis i had in this visit but nevertheless u cant go to hyderabad and not eat it. FYI - Hotel Paradise has a wait period of 45 min at least.

Next day morning was free. Ypgini had got my avakkai pickle but I still bought some more pickles from Sadgruha. They have a huge variety - mango, lemon (i got it), red chilly, green chilly with tamarind (i got it), red chilly with tamarind, curry leaves, coriander leaves, karel, cabbage, cauliflower,ginger, garlic phew..the list is long. It was time to bid to a great weekend or should i say great weekend evenings since day time was work time.

The pilot seemed to be in a hurry to take us home. Before landing he also gave us some fun by taking a sharp turn and taking the plane up and down. Was it a joy ride?
